Custom Nan-Painted “LTJ Kintsugi Johnny Quest” Mr. Bali Hai Ceramic Mug.
This ceramic Mr. Bali Hai Mug was primed and painted with acrylics. This particular mug is the result of a happy accident.. Nan had completely finished painting this mug in a RAD Johnny Quest theme. When she brought it upstairs to photograph it, she accidentally dropped it and part of it broke off.. 🤦🏼♀️
At the urging of many, she decided to repair the mug using the traditional Kintsugi method.. “Kintsugi is a Japanese art form that involves repairing broken pottery with gold or silver dust. The word literally means ‘to join with gold.’ The art highlights the repair rather than hiding it. The imperfections are what make the piece beautiful and valuable.”
The result is a truly unique one-of-a-kind LTJ mug that highlights the repair in gold ❤️
Please note that these mugs are not meant to be used for consumption - but should ONLY be displayed as art pieces. They are coated lightly with 2 layers of clear spray to protect from dust, but mug should NOT be submerged in water or cleaned with any products.
